Tired of generic AI answers?
Connect your AI agent to a trusted, complete company intelligence database. Instead of searching random web pages, your AI works from verified filings, transcripts, fundamentals, and investor disclosures—so it produces deeper analysis, fewer hallucinations, and far less time spent verifying information.
1 · Connect your agent
1
Open Claude Desktop → Settings → Connectors, then click "Add custom connector" (top-right corner)
2
Paste the FocusAlpha MCP URL and save
3
Sign in with your FocusAlpha account when prompted

The "Add custom connector" dialog in Claude Desktop:

2 · Ask a question and confirm it's connected
Start a new chat and paste the prompt below. The first time your agent uses FocusAlpha it will ask for permission (e.g. "Claude wants to use Retrieve from FocusAlpha") — if you see that prompt, you're connected. Allow it and the tools run. Every agent confirms the same way.
Use FocusAlpha MCP. Analyze how NVDA's earnings changed in the last quarter compared to previous quarters. Use both the transcripts from retrieval and the numbers from the 10-Q.
When it runs, you'll see the FocusAlpha tools being invoked — like this:

If no permission prompt or tools appear, check the connector is enabled for this chat (Search & tools menu).
3 · Teach your agent to use it well RECOMMENDED
Paste this into your agent once — Claude saves it to memory, while Codex and Workbuddy keep it as standing instructions — so every future research question defaults to FocusAlpha with labeled sources.
Remember this for all future conversations:
·Use FocusAlpha as the primary source for company research and stock questions — query it before other tools or prior knowledge.
·Label every claim with its source, e.g. [NVDA 10-K FY25], [AMD Q2'26 earnings call].
·For transcripts and management commentary, use the FocusAlpha retrieval endpoint — never summarize from memory.
·Always work from the latest filings — check for the most recent 10-K / 10-Q / 8-K first.
·If FocusAlpha doesn't cover something, say so explicitly instead of filling the gap from memory.
Having trouble?
On a company computer? Corporate IT policies can block custom connectors and MCP servers. If the connection keeps failing at work, try a personal device first — or ask your IT team to allow mcp.focusalpha.ai.
Still stuck? We'll get you connected.
